Educational Impact

Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.

Ms. Jamie Berrios, 5th-Grade Teacher
Ms. Berrios is the foundation of our 5th-grade team at FTE. Her students, teammates, and our entire campus benefit from her professionalism and wisdom. She even learned to dissect sharks so her fifth graders have the experience they missed in fourth grade. Her positivity, integrity, teamwork and knowledge have helped us transition back into this "normal" year like nothing ever changed. With 3 new teachers to FTE on the team, she is always offering advice, a helping hand and making sure the new teachers are comfortable with the curriculum and know the best way to teach it. Ms. Berrios is a valued member of FTE and our community. We are so lucky to have her in our lives!

Ms. Becky Dyke, 3rd-Grade Teacher
Working with Ms. Dyke, one frequently forgets she is a first-year teacher! She displays so much knowledge, compassion, willingness to collaborate, and flexibility with all her students, including those who need some extra support. Ms. Dyke welcomes collaboration from all, not just Special Education, and she frequently asks for input on ways to better accommodate all students’ needs. She is always kind and compassionate, while maintaining high and consistent expectations that all students in her class are capable of success. Ms. Dyke is an amazing asset to FTE!

Mr. Michael Lins, Permanent Substitute
Mr. Lins joined our community right in the middle of COVID, pulled in all different directions and navigating tricky situations from day one. He recently stepped up for one of the second-grade teachers who was out for several weeks due to medical reasons. He came to planning meetings, helped with copies, and took in those students as his own. He knows so many of the students’ names around this campus and invests his time getting to know them. Mr. Lins is the first person to say good morning in the halls or offer a helping hand without any complaint. The staff appreciates him, the students love him, and we are so lucky to have him! He is very deserving of this award.

Good Samaritan

One who displays compassion, selflessness, or courage by taking initiative.

Ms. Laura Jessee, Parent Volunteer
Mrs. Jessee has organized our annual FTE Food and Diaper Drive for several years now. Not only does she organize fifth-grade students and parents to manage the drive, she advertises the drive with posters and announcements in the Trailblazer, she trains students and parents to count and box the goods to donate and then finally delivers the donations to the Central Texas Food Bank. She puts countless hours into a beloved project that in the end, helps so many people in need. Mrs. Jessee is a wonderful example of a servant leader. We are lucky to have her at FTE!

Heroes

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Ms. Sherry Adrian, Substitute
Ms. Adrian is always willing to help. After substitute teaching for a number of days in a particular classroom, she wrote plans for the sub who was taking over when she became unavailable. She brought materials to let the kids make bracelets as a special project and the students loved it! She also made a beautiful decoration for the teacher’s door, all on her own.  She is a true gem and we are lucky to have her at FTE.

Ms. Savannah Garcia, Special Education Teacher
Ms. Garcia is such an amazing teacher. She goes above and beyond in everything she does. Every day she helps her struggling students, showing she believes in them and helping them gain confidence so they are capable of doing hard things. She teaches them with incredible patience to make sure they actually master skills. She never lets her students fall through the cracks. She's also incredibly organized and willing to share her teaching strategies with anyone. Eanes is so lucky to have her in our district and we are so lucky to have her at FTE. She is what teacher excellence looks like. She changes lives every day, and makes the world a better place, one student at a time, one day at a time.

Ms. Joy Krienke, Parent Volunteer
Joy has worked so hard to help the teachers in the workroom this year. She organizes volunteers and helps with copying, cutting, and laminating materials to allow teachers time for other tasks. She also has organized volunteers for special projects, getting the job done with grace and ease. Joy always has a smile on her face and she is always willing to help others. We APPRECIATE everything she does to help us!

Ms. Cheri Look, Office Secretary
Ms. Look is the backbone of the school.  She is the first to arrive every day and makes sure our staff members are ready for the day.  Her coordination of substitutes has saved us time and time again - it is an incredibly stressful and time consuming job but Cheri handles it with ease.  She is able to find coverage for our emergencies and ensures our students have teachers in their rooms. The warmth of her reception and willingness to help are genuine and create a loving ripple affect felt by all.  FTE would not be the same without her!

Ms. Amanda Marriott, Substitute
After an unexpected vacancy in our special education program, Ms. Marriott came to provide the needed consistency and support we all needed. She's consistently gone above and beyond in every way possible to support our students and our special education staff. She's been a great friend and mentor to new staff who have been challenged in unexpected ways. She has been an incredible support system the students and staff needed. We would not have survived the year without her.

Ms. Katie Ruback, Substitute
Ms. Ruback is a wonderful substitute all around the campus, but she truly stepped up in a huge way to assist our special education classrooms. She was there when we needed consistent support for some of our most high need students. She consistently went above and beyond the role of substitute and with such compassion and love. We would not have been able to provide the support our students deserve without her assistance. We are so fortunate to have Ms. Ruback as a part of our Forest Trail family!
