An Update from the Eanes ISD Board of Trustees
Superintendent's Report
While the weather outside does not reflect the season, Fall is here and our schools are thriving. I hope you were able to read my first message in our Kindness Series but if you missed it, I've included the link.
 
In September, our Board heard reports on enrollment, summer facilities updates and the latest accountability ratings. They also saw a presentation from Cedar Creek Elementary principal Susan Fambrough on a new initiative they implemented this year.

Eanes Bond
2019 Summer Facilities Update
The Board was presented an update on the facilities work completed over the summer, which included the initial phase of 2019 Bond projects.

Campus Connections
Cedar Creek Elementary principal Susan Fambrough shared her campus initiative focused on the bright spots around her campus. This is one of a series of presentations planned to highlight the great work occurring on campuses throughout the school year.

Eanes ISD
Enrollment Updates
The Board was presented the latest enrollment report as of September 18 which shows enrollment declined slightly and stands at 8,176, down from 8,231 in August.

TEA Accountability Report
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) Accountability Report for Eanes ISD and all nine campuses was presented at the September 10 meeting. The report consists of three components, preliminary STAAR/ EOC results, accountability rating and distinction designations. The ratings are based largely on performance on state standardized tests and graduation rates and examine student achievement, student progress, efforts to close the achievement gap and post-secondary readiness.

Bond Oversight Committee
The deadline to apply for the Bond Oversight Committee for the May 2019 Bond is September 30 at midnight.
 
Applicant requirements:
  • Reside in the Eanes Independent School District;
  • Attend evening meetings as necessary;
  • Base their decisions and recommendations on all objective information and relevant data, and not on any singular issue or personal viewpoints;
  • Be prepared to commit up to 3 years to committee service

The next study session is October 8 (please note new time of 7:45am) and the regular meeting is October 22 (7pm open session).
