PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING

Scheduled Lockdown Drill

Dear Forest Trail Families,

On January 23, Forest Trail will conduct a lockdown drill in conjunction with local first responders. The drill will begin at 9:30 and will be followed by our administrative staff debriefing on our response. Because of our strong partnerships with local first responders, please note there will be numerous emergency vehicles parked on campus during this time.

The lockdown drill will help familiarize first responders with the campus and help train staff and students on appropriate procedures to take in an emergency situation. The exercise is part of Eanes ISD’s annual training in emergency procedures that are being used within our district and by schools statewide. Staff have had discussions with students, and tomorrow we will make sure to remind students that this is only a drill.

As such, building access will be restricted for the duration of the drill.  Thank you in advance for your understanding.

We will continue to conduct these exercises so that they become routine and are treated the same way that fire drills have been for many years.

No more threats and bribes
EISD Speaker Series, "No More Threats and Bribes," Jan 23
“If you’ll get dressed, I’ll give you some candy”…”If you don’t get dressed, no TV today!”…Out of desperation, many parents have resorted to using threats or bribes to get children to behave. This workshop will help parents set consequences that teach instead of punish.
