January 31, 2019

Thank you to the positive response to last week's traffic plea.  On Friday, not a single car crossed the double yellow line, and our dismissal actually ended 2-3 minutes earlier than normal.  This week, it has been much better as well.  Thank you again for keeping Forest Trail safe!

As you know, tonight is our annual Open House.  I can't express how important tonight is to our students and how much your presence means to them.  They have so much to be proud of and to share with you.  Thank you for being an active participant in the evening and celebrating their work, being a partner in the progress, and being dedicated to the process of learning.

Saturday night is the big night: the FTE AUCTION PARTY! Please don't miss this opportunity to embrace your school community and support our campus, all while having a blast!  Proceeds from this event go towards our Booster Club which in turns provides field trips for our students, professional development opportunities for continued learning for our teachers, and countless other benefits for our students and campus.  Tonight is your last night to get your tickets as sales will close at 10:00 PM.  Please click here to purchase your tickets.  The auction always provides me with an assistant principal for a day; don't miss your chance to bid on the position.  This year, our FTE Elf has requested support as well.  Be sure to bid on the chance for your student to join in on the planning of his visit and being included in our yearly tradition as well.

Is there a FTE Staff Member You Would Like to Recognize...

Falcon Finest Acknowledgements

Please join me in spreading those feel good vibes around our campus.  Everyday our bus drivers, custodians, office staff, and teachers are doing incredible things.  If there is a FTE staff member you would like to recognize for their contributions, please let  me know by clicking the link below.

As you may have seen on the news, the flu season is in full swing. Please take the time to read the following to ensure our students are healthy and our school environment is safe.

As a precaution, and as is custom this time of year, our custodians are working hard to disinfect common surface areas such as water fountains, rails, restroom surfaces, doorknobs, etc. and keeping restroom areas stocked with soap and paper towels.

If your child has a fever (100 degrees or higher) or is vomiting in the evening or morning before school, he/she should NOT come to school that day. Students with a fever should remain home fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Please report communicable diseases such as strep and flu to the nurse as we would like to continue to track our illnesses/absences.

Please see the following information on the flu with helpful reminders to share with your student(s):

Thanks for all you do at home to keep our students as healthy as possible and in school!

On Friday, February 8th, all items in our FTE Lost and Found that have been unclaimed for more than one month will be donated to a charity.  Please be sure to check our lost and found area in the cafeteria prior to the 8th for any of your child's misplaced items.

Last Day to Donate to the FTE Food & Diaper Drive is Friday, February 1st!

Don't forget to bring Food & Diaper drive donations! We will be collecting donations each morning this week and at Open House! Canned food (no glass please), diapers, and CASH are appreciated and will help Central Texas Food Bank feed Central Texans in need! Don't miss out on our raffle for a photo with Forest the Falcon! Thank you!
