Sign Up for the 2018-2019 FTE Science Fair...
The FTE Science Fair sign-up link and informational packet is posted on the front page of our Forest Trail website. Interested participants must sign up on-line by December 21st at the latest. The Forest Trail Science Fair will take place on January 30th for grades K-5. The top projects in grades 3-5 will be eligible to compete in the Austin Energy Regional Science Fair on February 23, 2019. Congratulations FTE!
Socktober was a HUGE success! Our FTE students donated 6,538 pairs of socks for those less fortunate. Tuesday night Mrs. Hitt and her 5th grade homeroom had the privilege of personally delivering over 850 pairs of socks to Caritas in downtown Austin. With the cold snap the donation couldn't have been more timely nor the example shown to the kids more poignant.
Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Hitt made sure that the remaining socks were distributed to local shelters and places in need for many cold toes in Austin this year! Additionally, Mrs. Lewis and children helpers stuffed socks and made care packages with toiletries and other helpful items.
Please let your children know that their generosity and hard work this past month will be much appreciated for a long time from those in need.

Kindergarten GT Assessment Process
The process to identify our kindergarten GT students has begun. If you are interested in assessing your kindergarten student, please give your consent by clicking on the "Kindergarten GT Consent for Assessment Form" button posted on the Forest Trail website in the "News" section at the bottom. Parents have until December 14, 2018 to register your children for assessment. If you have questions about assessment, please see the slides from the parent meeting held November 5, 2018 at Valley View or contact Shannon Harvey at sharvey@eanesisd.net.

Purchase Your FTE Yearbook Now
Purchase your yearbook online at: balfour.com They are on sale for $25. Price will increase on December 22nd. Yearbooks are a first come first basis and can ONLY be purchased online and no extras are ordered.
Additionally, the 5th grade pridelines are for sale! There is a hard deadline of February 15, 2019 and no exceptions will be made. Visit balfour.com and select "yearbook ads" and follow the instructions online.
