Big Ted's Birthday P.E. Party!
This event is a fundraiser to help raise funds to build a home at Community First Village. You can find out more about this organization at: https://mlf.org/community-first.
Bring your teddy bear and come celebrate Big Ted's (6 foot bear) birthday. The P.E. birthday party is open to kindergarten and first grade students. The party will resemble the wonderfully popular P.E. parties thrown by Mrs. Jane Lewis. RSVP to the party to jlewis@eanesisd.net. No gifts please, just a monetary donation of your choice to CFV.

Staff Appreciation Week - Gift Card Drive and Homemade Cards
May 7th to May 11th is Staff Appreciation Week at Forest Trail and the Staff Appreciation Committee is already hard at work planning a special week for our truly deserving Forest Trail staff! We are continuing the tradition of presenting staff with parent-donated gift cards one day that week. If you are able to, please help us spoil our staff by donating a $10 or $15 gift card(s). (Cash, check, and Venmo [to Alison-Bogle] donations will also be accepted and will be used to purchase additional gift cards.)
A labeled collection box can be found in the front office and we request that all donations be turned in by Friday, May 4th. Popular gift cards include local eateries (TX Honey Ham, Taco Deli, Kerbey Lane, Chili's), movie theaters, nail salons, and stores (Nordstrom, Target, HEB).
The homemade cards/drawings/etc. from students were very well-received last year so we will be doing that again as well (details to come from your homeroom parents).

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
FOREST TRAIL 2018-2019 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Please help us spread the word! "Official" kindergarten registration for the 2018-2019 school year is open.
To be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2018. Beginning April 2nd, parents may access and complete the on-line required forms which can be found on our website and at https://www.eanesisd.net/parents/enrollment. The registration information is essential to determine the staff needed and the number of classrooms required.
After completing the on-line enrollment forms, parents will need to bring the following documentation to the FTE Front Office. Parents may bring originals with them, and a member of our staff will help make any copies needed.
- an original copy of child's birth certificate, preferably with a photocopy
- a photocopy of child's social security card
- a photocopy of child's completed immunization record (*This is required before school starts.)
- a photocopy of guardian's valid driver's license
- 2) proofs of residency in EISD (current utility bill and copy of lease agreement, deed contract or recent tax receipt)
Miscellaneous forms will be found in Kinder Packets (i.e. FTE Directory Form, Bus Buddy form, School Supply information, Kindergarten Day information, etc.) and will be available for pickup in our school office beginning Monday, April 2nd .

Last Box Top Contest of 2017-18 School Year!
Box Tops Due May 4th! This will be the last contest of the year. Many Box Tops expire during the summer months so please turn your Box Tops in to your child's teacher or the office. If you have any questions about Box Tops contact Kelley Edward at:

Calling for Photos for 5th Grade Graduation Slide Show – Deadline is April 20th!!
- Pictures should ONLY include kids from the class of 2025...that means current 5th graders ONLY please!
- Each parent/family may submit 5-8 digital photos. Teachers/coaches/scout leaders, may also submit 5-8 photos of groups of 5th graders. Although you will be sure that ALL of your photos are a must, please don't overwhelm our slideshow volunteers with more pictures than they can manage.
- Please be sure all photos are IN FOCUS/NOT BLURRY.
- Only include photos from kindergarten through 5th grade...please don't submit preschool photos, baby photos, etc.
- The BEST photos are photos of 3 or more 5th graders! The more classmates in the picture, the more likely it is to get used! Please don't submit individual photos of your child or photos of your child with your family.
AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR PHOTOS, please CLICK ON THE "COMMENT" BUTTON ON THE TOP RIGHT AND LIST THE NAMES OF THE KIDS IN EACH PHOTO in order to help us be sure we have identified all the kids properly! This is being done to help us ensure that each 5th grader is included in the slideshow as equally as possible. Careful attention will be given to this so please help us out in this easy way!

EISD Elementary Summer Academy
When: June 4 – June 21, 2018 Monday – Thursday (12 days)
Where: Valley View Elementary
Registration due by Tuesday, May 15, 2018
The program is designed to support students who need additional help mastering grade level objectives in reading and math. Instruction will be based on individual student profiles provided by the student’s current classroom teacher.
