FTE TRAIL BLAZER

January 25, 2018

Forest Trail Elementary

PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING

We look forward to seeing everyone this evening at our FTE Open House!  This evening is always a highlight for me.  Our Falcons are so proud of themselves and love to share!  Your children are very excited to share their work and provide you with a glimpse into their world here at FTE.  Thank you for your support and being such an important part of their education and growth.

Tonight is all about our students, and our teachers have been working very hard to ensure a successful event.  Our fabulous Staff Appreciation Committee has once again pampered us.  Thank you, Melissa Howitt, Alison Bogle and Karyn Reiber, for seeing to it that we are well fed and ready for this evening.

Kudos and congratulations to all of our young scientists!  This year's Science Fair featured 72 projects presented by 84 students.  I encourage everyone to visit the library this evening to view their work.  Who knows? You may even run into one our scientists and get a VIP demonstration.  Thank you to Mr. Buthe, Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. Seelig and Jacqueline Renz for the behind the scenes dirty work needed to make this event so special.  Additional thanks to our 19 judges who absolutely made the FTE Science Fair possible.

Lastly, February 19th is now a regular school day for students and staff.  This is the determined make-up day for the January 17th Ice Day.

Have a good evening!

Is there a FTE Staff Member You Would Like to Recognize...

SCHOOL NEWS

Forest Trail would like to congratulate all of our Science Fair participants!

We had excellent projects from every grade level.  Our judges were very surprised with the understanding of challenging science concepts, and they were impressed with how well our children conducted themselves with respect and poise.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this event successful!

Our Forest Trail would like to specifically congratulate our top 3 projects from every grade level.  Projects in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades have the opportunity to continue further to the Austin Regional Science Fest next month.
