Forest Trail Library sends a special thanks to BookPeople for bringing Dan Santat to the first, second and third grade students of Forest Trail and Valley View. The students gave their very best "whole body listening" to Mr. Santat as he shared his history as an author and illustrator.  Forest Trail Bluebonnet Readers shared a photo opportunity with the author of AFTER THE FALL and ADVENTURES OF BEEKLE.

Forest Trail's 5th Annual SOCKTOBER Update...

Happy Socktober!  In our first week of our sock drive, we have collected over 700 pairs of socks! Socks are the most requested, but least donated items at homeless shelters.  Our socks are supplied to Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Caritas, and many other homeless resource centers around the Austin area.  Thank you so much for your generosity!  You are making a difference in people's lives.

Next week's challenge - October 16th through the 20th – special teacher reward!  The class with the highest daily total of socks, their teacher gets a gift from the sock fairy‚Ķ and the sock fairy likes to give Starbucks gift cards and chocolate gifts!  So if you'd like to help your child's teacher win an extra surprise, bring-in those socks!
