Forest Trail's 5th Annual SOCKTOBER!

Every night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. Socks are the most requested and most needed item at shelters. Forest Trail is once again joining others around the country to prove that even the smallest acts of kindness, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.

Please bring socks between now and October 31st. Be sure to label the package with your child's teacher's name, because the class that collects the most pairs of socks (K-2 & 3-5) each wins an extra PE class! Happy Socktober!

Reserve your copy of the Forest Trail Elementary School ALL COLOR yearbook. For a limited time, the yearbooks are on sale for $25. The price will increase on December 23rd. Make sure your student has their very own yearbook so the memories of this year will not be forgotten. BOOKS ALWAYS SELL OUT AND CAN ONLY BE ORDERED ONLINE!

Attention 5th grade parents....Pridelines are back this year! Parents must go online (www.balfour.com -- Yearbook Ads) to design your ad and pay for it. The 1/8 page ad is $15.00 and only available to 5th grade parents or family members! The hard deadline is February 16th, so don't delay as no exceptions can be made to this. There are only a certain number of spots in the yearbook for these so they are on a first come, first serve basis.

The Forest Trail Auction date is set… February 3rd, 2018… Mark your calendars!

"Cardboard Creativity Day" Celebration - Friday, Oct. 6th.

On Friday, October 6th, students are invited to create their own cardboard game to share with their class. This optional activity encourages students to just create – explore building a game with cardboard – one where others can visit and play.

Monday, October 9th, is a School Holiday.

Carl will walk through technology your kids are exposed to and how to keep them safe.

You Say It's Your Birthday?!

Celebrate It All Month Long on FTE Communication Screens!

Purchase a digital birthday card for your child and have the image run on the FTE communication screens in the foyer and the cafeteria the month of his/her birthday! Fun way to celebrate a special day all month long. Digital cards can be purchased on the HUB and are $10 each. June/July birthdays will have option to purchase half-year birthday cards that will run in December/January. August birthdays (this year only) have the option to purchase half-year birthday cards to run in February. See below for an example of our digital birthday cards and the HUB for more details on ordering! Purchase your OCTOBER one today and we'll get it up and running next week!

No Cook Spirit Night at HAT CREEK – Wednesday, October 11th!

Enjoy the fall weather on the playground, grab a cold drink and a great burger (or salad!) and take the night off cooking! Stop by the Westlake Hat Creek Burger Company between 5pm and 9pm on Wednesday, Oct. 11th, and be sure to drop your receipt in the spirit night bucket so that a percentage can be donated back to the FTE Booster Club! Thanks for your support—and happy eating!

STEAMfest (formally Sciencefest)

STEAMfest is rolling our way on Friday, November 3rd! If you are interested in presenting at STEAMfest (all presentations/demonstrations under the STEAM umbrella welcome) please contact Leslie Odom at lesliedmullen@gmail.com. Early registration opens at 7pm on October 12th, until 7pm on October 14th. Regular registration runs from 7pm on October 18th, until 7pm on October 22nd.

Parent Socials Dates

Most dates are set for grade level parent socials with Kindergarten and 1st coming up in November Tickets sales for Kinder and 1st are open and can be purchased on the HUB (these events are capped at 50 participants so reserve your spot quickly)! Tickets for other grades will be available for purchase in the upcoming weeks. Tickets are $45 each. See below for dates of grade level parent socials (2nd and 3rd TBD).
