Mr. Cody Spraberry was approved as Forest Trail Elementary
principal at the June 7, 2016 Board of Trustees meeting.
For the past several weeks, Eanes ISD has conducted a thorough search to find a replacement for Charles McCasland at Forest Trail Elementary. Charles has been Principal at Forest Trail for 23 years. Under his tenure, the school has been named a U.S. Blue Ribbon school and has consistently notched the highest state accountability ratings every single year. Along with all of his accolades, he will also fondly be remembered for bringing chickens and goats to Eanes ISD.
Mr. Spraberry recently served as assistant principal of Hill Elementary in Austin ISD, which achieved the Met Standard rating from TEA with three distinctions (Reading/ELA, Science, Post-Secondary Readiness) for the 2014-15 school year. Before Hill Elementary, Spraberry worked in Eanes ISD as a fourth grade teacher at Forest Trail Elementary, where he spent six years. He also worked as the Summer School Principal at Cedar Creek Elementary. He began his career as a third grade teacher at Anson Elementary in Anson ISD, before teaching five years as a third and fourth grade teacher at Florence Elementary in Keller ISD.
Spraberry holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership & Policy from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor of Behavioral Sciences from Hardin-Simmons University, with a minor in Reading.
Thank you to all who served on the principal's interview committee, which included more than 40 parents, staff and of course, a group of wonderful FTE students. Their involvement and ultimate recommendation was invaluable to the process.
We are offering an opportunity to meet Mr. Spraberry at Forest Trail sometime in August and will announce that date as soon as possible.
